What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated

In a quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper boards. Illustrations to the paste downs and end papers. 7 colour plates and numerous illustrations in the text. Collated complete. The Magic Fishbone was written by Charles Dickens in 1867, under the guise that it was written by Miss Alice Rainbird, aged seven. The book was one of four 'holiday romances' (his more famous Christmas Carol also being part of this group). It tells the story of Princess Alicia, who is given a magic fishbone by her fairy godmother. Charmingly illustrated by Francis Donkin Bedford (1864-1954).

Condition

In a quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper boards. Externally smart, with some marks and spots to the boards and a little bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean except for the odd spot to the reverse of the colour plates and to first and last few pages. Some coloured pencil markings to page 15.
