Leather Binding, Prize Binding
With a frontispiece illustration. An attractive copy of this much-loved tale, in a handsome prize binding. Lacks publication date, but probably c1900 (prize bookplate is dated 1914). Jules Verne was a French novelist, who gained success for his adventure novels, including 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth' and 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea'. He ranks among one of the worlds most translators author, second only to William Shakespeare.
In a prize calf binding for the Royal Masonic School. Externally excellent with very minor shelfwear only. Prize bookplate, a little marked, to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. The odd light spot toward the gutter of the book, but pages generally clean and bright.
