c1920 Huntley & Palmers Book Biscuit Tin Box
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Very Scarce
Huntley & Palmers Biscuits started producing biscuit tin boxes in the shape of books in 1900, with the more popular tin box 'Waverley' in the shape of eight books by Sir Walter Scott produced in 1903. These book shaped tin boxes were extremely popular and were produced in ten different variations until 1924.
The present is a very scarce tin box in the shape of a singular antique book with simple decorations to spine and front board imitating leather-bound books with gilt tooling. A truly charming piece of antique, in full working order.
Huntley & Palmers is a British company of biscuits established in 1822, one of the world's first global brands which ran once the world's largest biscuit factory.
