With forty eight colour plates by Margaret W. Tarrant. Collated, complete.
Best known for illustrations in Water Babies and Alice in Wonderland, Tarrant is well known as a great children's illustrator.
Prior owner's ink inscriptions to the first free endpaper and to the verso of the frontispiece.
Undated, dated from Jisc and the most recent publication advertised.
Condition
In the original publisher's pictorial cloth binding. Externally, very smart. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Prior owner's ink inscriptions to the first free endpaper and to the verso of the frontispiece. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot.
