Eight volumes of later editions of the classic children's tales of author and illustrator Beatrix Potter, each richly illustrated in colour throughout.
Beginning in 1901 with the private printing of 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' following a mischievous and disobedient young Peter Rabbit as he is chased around the garden of Mr McGregor, twenty-three of these charming children's tales were published in total.

The Tale of Two Bad Mice, dated c1909 via endpapers and publisher's imprint. Illustrated with twenty-seven colour plates. Collated, complete.
The Tale of Piggling Bland, dated c1913, with first issue endpapers but lacking 1913 to the title page, so not a first edition. Illustrated with fourteen colour plates.
The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse, dated c1818/19 with Quinby plate VII endpapers, and LTD to publisher's imprint. Illustrated with twenty-seven colour plates. Collated, complete.
The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies, dated c1818/19 with Quinby plate VII endpapers, and LTD to publisher's imprint. Illustrated with twenty-seven colour plates. Collated, complete.

The Tailor of Gloucester, dated 1919, with Quinby plate XV endpapers. Illustrated with twenty-five plates. Lacking frontispiece and one further plate.
The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse, dated c1925, Quinby 25A, printed after May 1919. Illustrated with twenty-seven colour plates. Collated, complete.
The Tale of Samuel Whiskers, dated 1926 due to the present of a publisher's advertisement to the verso of the front free endpaper. Illustrated with eighteen colour plates.
The Pie and Patty Pan, dated c1925-1935 via endpapers, illustrated with eleven colour plates.
Condition
In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Red tape repair running the length of Tiggy-Winkle and Flopsy Bunny back strips, with tape to head of Samuel Whiskers back strip. Pigling Bland lacking back strip, with losses to back strip head and tail of Tittlemouse. Marks to Flopsy Bunnies and Gloucester front boards. Hinges strained. Ink inscriptions to preliminary leaves of three volumes. Internally, generally firmly bound, with some volumes slightly tender. Tape to gutters of a number of leaves each to Samuel Whiskers and Johnny Town Mouse. Pages generally clean and bright.
