What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Published in the original French, with colour plates and numerous vignette illustrations.

An encyclopaedia of 'Ladies Work', from the French textile and thread company DMC. This is the work of Austrian needle worker and writer Therese de Dillmont. She owned several shops in European capitals and was 'one of the most important pioneers in the international and multicultural enterprise of hobby needlework in the late nineteenth century'.

With Dillmont's help, DMC became known for its publications that stood out from other craft related instructional books because they included clear instructions and illustrations for their designs.

While the title page is undated, this work can be identified as c1907 on Jisc.
