Illustrated throughout, including eight plates of photogravures, one of which is the frontispiece. Collated complete.

An account of the Transvaal War from the world's first illustrated weekly news magazine, The Illustrated London News. Includes the record of the war by Spenser Wilkinson, known primarily for his work on military subjects.

With a page of publisher's advertisements to the rear.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, worn with rubbing heaviest to the hinges and spine. Cloth coming away to the head and tail of spine. Hinges are weak, with amateur reinforcements assisting the attachments. Marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with occasional spotting, heaviest to the endpapers. Handling marks to the paper.
