Fine Binding, Signed Binding, Very Scarce
Richard Brinsley Sheridan (1751-1816) was an Irish playwright and poet, also known for owning the London Theatre Royal. He was honoured with burial at Poet's Corner in Westminster Abbey, and remembered for plays such as 'The Rivals', 'The Duenna' and 'A Trip to Scarborough' as well as 'The School for Scandal', which is a satirical comedy play first performed at Drury Lane Theatre in 1777. Featuring widow Lady Sneerwell, the play its about rumours first and foremost.
In a beautiful full crushed morocco binding with a lovely gilt spine and corners.
Condition
In a full crushed morocco binding. Externally lovely, shelf wear is very minor to extremities. Library stamp to front endpapers as well as a pencil inscription. Internally firmly bound, pages bright and clean.
