Fine Binding, Leather Binding
In the original French. A facsimile reprint of the 1549 first edition printed by Michel Vascosan. With the original paper wraps bound in. Pierre de Ronsard was a French poet known in his own time as a 'prince of poets'. He published many 'hymns' in his time which earned him great popularity.
Condition
In a quarter calf binding with paper covered boards. Externally, smart with some minor rubbing to the head and tail of spine. Loss to the paper covered boards at the bottom due to water damage. Water damage is evident throughout text at the bottom margin, some mould and tide marks, does not affect text. Pages are slightly age toned to edges due to paper used with the odd spot throughout.
