Description
Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce, With Dustwrapper
In the original German, printed in black letter type.
A circa 1900 edition of this work, in the very scarce original unclipped dust wrapper.
Described by the publisher as 'a cookbook with doll-sized scales and measuring devices for play and life', this is a charming children's cookery work.
The cookbook won a prize at the culinary arts exhibition in Berlin in 1896, when it was first published.
With numerous vignette illustrations throughout, and with eight title pages printed in red ink. These vignette illustrations are the work of the author - Anna Jager - and Fritz Reiss.
With each leaf intended for children's notes left blank.
With a stamp to the front free endpaper.
Without the vanishingly scarce scales and measuring devices issued with the work upon publication.
A lovely early edition of this popular work.
