A scarce large edition of this study of birds' eggs found in the British Isles.
In the publisher's original cloth binding.
Collated, complete with twenty-four tissue-guarded coloured plates. Illustrated by Frederick William Frohawk, an English zoological artist.
This study comes from Arthur Gardiner Butler, an English entomologist and ornithologist.
Butler's details of each of the species follow the series of plates, and describe the eggs' nests and their distinguishable characteristics.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with rubbing to the extremities, resulting in losses of cloth to the spine and board corners. Marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting to the endpapers and occasional spots.
