Morris is credited with reviving traditional British textile art, and he helped establish modern fantasy as a writer, publishing short stories, novels and poetry throughout his life. He is still hailed as a prominent figure of the Victorian era remembered primarily for his art, although he was more renowned in his lifetime for poetry.
