Written by H. Rider Haggard, this work is a novel and part of a series of works by the writer featuring a recurring character Allan Quartermain. The idea for this series was given to Haggard by Rudyard Kipling. The story recounts Quartermain's past life regression to a Stone Age ancestor and the various adventures involved.
Sir Henry Rider Haggard (1856-1925) was an English author who specialised in adventure fiction set in exotic locations, primarily Africa. He was a pioneer of the lost world literary genre.
Condition
In the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper and cloth binding. Externally, lovely condition. Cloth is bright and clean. Very minor bumping to head and tail of spine. Faint offsetting to rear free end paper. Dust wrapper is smart. Minor chipping to extremities, in particular the head and tail of spine. Small closed tear to front. Minor stain to reverse head of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright with the odd spot, especially to fore edge.
