Description
Colour Plates, Illustrated, Leather Binding
In two volumes, each complete and containing eighty plates divided between four illustrated wraps. Volume I also contains one leaf of text describing the fashions from 1795 to 1900, in French. Each plate shows one or two women in dress typical of a specific time. The relevant year is printed at the foot of each plate.
Condition
In quarter calf bindings with cloth covered boards and fabric ties. Plates contained within paper wraps. Externally, sound with slight rubbing. Internally, closed tears to extremities of three paper wraps. Very slight loss to spine of one further wrap. Slight curling to edges of single page of text. Slight age-toning to front board of one paper wrap. Otherwise, bright and clean.
