Leather Binding
In the original French. A collection of short stories. Francois Edouard Joachim Coppee was a French poet and novelist. After holding a post in the library of the senate, Coppe was chosen in 1878 as archivist of the Comdie Franaise, an office he held till 1884. In that year his election to the Acadmie franaise caused him to retire from all public appointments. He was made an officer of the Legion of Honour in 1888. This volume bears the bookplate of The Right Hon. Sir Ronald Charles Lindsay. He served as British Ambassador to the United States of America from 1929 to 1939.
Condition
In a full leather binding. Externally, smart. Minor rubbing to the spine and extremities. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd handling mark and spot.
