Also, with a series of portraits reproduced in photogravure and numerous illustrations throughout. A presentation copy in a special edition with publisher's note bound in. With several fold out facsimiles of composer's manuscripts and letters such as Beethoven's letters to his brother, and an announcement of the first performance of Hayden's 'Creation' in 1799. Emil Naumann (September 8 1827 in Berlin - June 23 1888 in Dresden) was a German composer and church musician. Among his writings and music theory, The Art of Music in cultural History (1869) and Illustrated History of Music (1885). Sir Frederick Arthur Gore Ouseley, 2nd Baronet (12 August 1825 - 6 April 1889) was an English composer, organist, and musicologist.
Condition
In decorative cloth bindings. Externally, generally smart with very slight wear to extremities and slight rubbing and the odd mark to boards. Internally, generally firmly bound. Bright but with odd scattered spots and handling marks to pages and some foxing to endpapers and first and last few pages.
