What Our Customers Say...
Description
Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
A vanishingly scarce work.
'A Modern Monk' is a unique early science fiction novel, with a Martian invasion, and a free love religious utopia.
This is considered to be the first American pornographic science fiction novel. In 'A Modern Monk', a disgraced scientist was founded a sexually liberated Utopia, keeping the inhabitants under hypnotic control. The scientists realises that the Earth is about to be crashed into by a spaceship, and escapes to the North Pole in a balloon with various sexual partners.
Illustrated with a frontispiece.
Written by Anthony P. Morris Junior, 'A Modern Monk' is a clear attack on the religious laws of nineteenth century United States.
Morris was initially a farmer before setting up a printing establishment and writing as a journalist. His other works include 'Confessions of an Actress', and 'Serpent Sin'.
