A near fine, half calf edition of the Jorrocks Edition of ‘Mr Facey Romford’s Hounds’, by Robert Smith Surtees (1805 – 1864).

Surtees was an English editor, novelist and sporting writer. He is remembered most notably for his invented character of Jorrocks, a vulgar but good-natured sporting cockney grocer.

Beautifully illustrated throughout with colour plates and black and white in-text illustrations.

Condition

In a half calf binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, lovely. Very minor rubbing to the extremities and marking to the front board. Previous bookseller’s small stamp to verso of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Some very light spotting to endpapaers. Otherwise, pages are bright and clean.
