Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

Two detective tales by pioneer detective novelist Emile Gaboriau. Translated from the French. Containing Intrigues of a Poisoner and Captain Coutanceau, featuring only one title page with no mention of the second tale. Pagination is continuous. 

A very scarce copy, uncommonly published by Richard Butterworth. There are two institutional copies catalogued on Copac published in London by Vizetelly & Co.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally smart with minor shelf wear, lightly bumped to head and tail of spine, staining mark to front board. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to first and last few leaves, pages browned as usual with type of paper used.
