In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the spine and extremities. Light marks to the boards and spine. Bound without the endpapers. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots. Bound without the title page and one leaf of adverts. Prior owner's pencil illustrations to the reverse of the half-title and reverse of the frontispiece, and to a couple of pages of text. Prior owner's ink inscription to the head of the contents page.
