Ink inscription by Justice Grantham to the verso of the second blank reading: 'To Muriel, my Temple Church companion as a reminiscence of her father's treasureship, William Grantham', dated 1904. William Grantham (23 October 1835 – 30 November 1911) was a British politician. With a bookbinder's stamp for Roger de Coverly and Sons to the front pastedown. With a publisher's catalogue to the rear. Edward J. Hopkins was a composer and organist at the Temple Church, London, for fifty-five years.
Condition
In a full calf binding. Externally, very smart with just some shelfwear only. Internally, firmly bound. Foxed to the first and last few pages but otherwise clean.
