This humorous work follows Facey, a trickster who seems to take advantage of the gullible and greedy without repercussions.
Robert Smith Surtees (1805-1864) was an English editor and novelist, most widely known for the cockney character of Jorrocks. This work appeared posthumously, the year following the author's death.
Illustrated by John Leech and Hablot K. Browne with in-text illustrations as well as steel engravings in colour throughout.
Undated; dated from copies held on Jisc.
Condition
In a half calf binding. Externally generally smart; spine is a little rubbed. Ownership inscription to the front blank. Internally, binding is occasionally a touch tender, with a plate loose but present. Pages are bright and clean.
