Titled 'Off on a Comet' in English, this science fiction work tells of a comet touching the Earth and picking up thirty-six Europeans with it as it continues on its path.

This work was originally serialised in Magasin d'Éducation.

Jules Verne (1828-1905) was a French novelist best known for his thrilling adventure series, 'Voyages Extraordinaires'. This included works such as 'Journey to the Center of the Earth', 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas', 'Around the World in Eighty Days', 'Around the Moon', 'The Mysterious Island', and 'The Vanished Diamond'.

Undated; dated from the publisher's advertisements. Bound in quarter crushed morocco, and signed by the binder 'Engel of Paris' to the tail of the spine.

Condition

In a quarter crushed morocco binding. Externally generally smart; some rubbing to the joints, raised bands and the head and tail of the spine, otherwise, extremities are a little bumped. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are occasionally slightly spotted, with a little age-toning at the edges.
