Illustrated, Leather Binding

Illustrated throughout with numerous vignette engravings. With notes and a memoir of Milton's life. John Milton was a hugely influential poet of the 17th century, gaining great success in his own lifetime after the publication of his work ' Areopagitica'.

Condition

In a morocco binding with gilt detailing. Externally, generally smart, though with some rubbing to the extremities. Ink inscription to recto of front free-endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound although a little strained in places. Pages are bright, and quite clean, though with some foxing prominent to the first and last few pages.
