With twenty one plates of sketches from Edward Kennard, a Justice of the Peace who published similar collections of drawings on fishing in Norway and a trip he took to America.
Kennard's illustrations, each captioned, depict a typical Deer Stalking jaunt to the highlands of Scotland in the mid to late Victorian period, when the pastime was especially popular amongst the upper classes. With plates featuring such titles as 'Highland Honours', 'A Shot for a Royal' and 'A Chase'.
An extremely scarce work, with editions held at the Yale University Library and Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art.

Condition
In the original half morocco binding with cloth covered boards. Rubbed, with bumping to extremities and some marks to front board. Internally, firmly bound. Some minor discolouration to plate perimeters.
