In the original decorative cloth binding with gilt detail. Gutta percha binding has given way as usual. Thirteen pages of William Shakespeare's songs, including a song from A Midsummer Night's Dream, sung by Titania's fairy attendants. With beautiful illuminated borders, created with colour lithography intended to reproduce the effects of manuscript illumination. Artwork by H. C. Hoskyns Abrahall.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the edges and some small tears to the upper spine. Internally, binding failed. Pages are loose. A few towards the rear are still connected but could become detached with further handling. Pages bright and clean with just a few handling marks and some spotting to the front and rear blanks.
