A very scarce book held institutionally at the British Library only. Undated, dated from Jisc c1840.

A little manual on British birds, in which the author shares observations on the individual bird species, based on various scientific works. 

A remarkable work with poems included, celebrating the beauty of the British natural world. 

Including the nightingale, the wren, the thrush, the blackbird, and many more. 

Illustrated with an engraving for each bird observed.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear and a slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Inscribed by a previous owner to the front free endpaper, undated, with a small bookseller sticker to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Internally, firmly bound. Illustrated with a frontispiece and an engraving per bird species.
