Description

Illustrated, Leather Binding, Rebound, Signed Binding

A new enlarged and improved edition. Rebound in a full mottled calf binding with gilt detail, by G. Dunford. With fourteen full page plates, illustrating some of the words and people mentioned in the text. Collated complete. Barclay's dictionary, including the names of several prominent historical figures, alongside an introduction to the study of the english tongue and a timeline of modern and ancient history.

Condition

In full calf binding. Externally, very smart with some light rubbing to the extremities. Binders label to the front paste-down. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with marks and spotting throughout. Tear to the upper corner of page xxi. The occasional closed tear throughout. The upper corners of pages 495 to 504 have been clipped. Without a title page.
