A very scarce pamphlet containing a transcribed conversation, "nearly verbatim", between a Gentleman and a Farmer on a steam boat.
They discuss the pros and cons of the Corn Laws, which were tariffs and other trade restrictions on imported food and corn enforced in the United Kingdom between 1815 and 1846.
The rear notes that the work was issued by the Anti-Corn-Law League, a successful political movement that aimed to abolish these unpopular laws.
Condition
In the publisher's wraps. Externally, smart with age toning to the wraps and handling marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with the odd spot.
