Undated, dated using Jisc from a copy held at the British Library.

The second edition. First published in 1819 under the title 'Sacra Ethica; or, the Proverbs of Solomon, in verse, with a short life of Solomon prefixed'.

Bound in quarter cloth with paper-covered boards.

Very scarce work.

A study of divine ethics surrounding the proverbs of Solomon, presented in verse by C. Caldecott. The author explores the use of proverbs in Christianity, with chapters on Solomon's observations on Godliness, obedience, self-love and much more.

Illustrated with a frontispiece.

Condition

Bound in quarter cloth with paper-covered boards. Externally, very smart, with light bumping and a little rubbing to the extremities. Renewed endpapers. Bookplate of J. O. Edwards to front blank and front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little age toned with the odd mark. Offsetting to the first few pages.
