The work of British East India Company officer James Capper, who was also a writer and meteorologist, who had an interest also in agriculture.

With five folding tables. Collated, complete.

Capper's meteorological work includes discussion of lunar weather, kitchen gardens, whirlwinds, atmospheric electricity, and the use of the thermometer and barometer.

Retaining the half title.

With errata to the rear.

Undated; dated circa 1810 via Jisc.

With the armorial bookplate of Christopher Norbury to the front pastedown, and with a typed label also reading 'bought at the sale of books belonging to: Richard & Thomas Knight at Downton Castle on November 22, 1951' also to the front pastedown. With a further inscription to the head of the front free endpaper.
