A fascinating multi-volume compendium originally published between 1747 and 1766, edited by William Oldys; a second edition followed between 1778 and 1793, edited by Andrew Kippis and Joseph Towers. From the 'Anglistica & Americana' series or reprints selected by Bernhard Fabian, Edgar Mertner, Karl Schneider, and Marvin Spevack, number 39.
Complete in seven volumes, facsimile edition. Pagination is continuous. Volume VII containing the Supplement.

In the original publisher's uniform full cloth bindings, gilt lettering to front boards, titles in gilt to printed spine label. Externally lovely with only light wear to extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
