Originally published from 1924 to 1927, this work was the first major survey of English furniture (and an authoritative work to this day) written collaboratively by Macquoid and Edwards. Percy Thomas MacQuoid was a renowned British theatrical designer and notable collector and connoisseur of English furniture. He authored a large array of articles on English furniture, largely for 'Country Life', and also produced a four volume history of English furniture. Ralph Edwards was the Keeper of the Department of Woodwork at the Victoria and Albert Museum and a notable authority on English antique furniture. This 1954 edition was revised and enlarged by Ralph Edwards alone. Complete in three volumes, with the original unclipped dustwrappers. This copy is numbered '154' of one thousand copies published by the Antique Collectors' Club.
