First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
The first edition, of all volumes. With the original dustwrappers. Illustrated throughout, with numerous monochrome and coloured drawings by Iris Brooke. Each volume is in chronological order, regarding each century under discussion. The text is split either by decade, or every five years. If one particular year has a clear development in fashion then it has its own leaf. Smart, bright copies of the works. Iris Brooke created a wide range of books on costume throughout the ages. Here are three volumes from this series, seldom seen together.
Condition
In the original full cloth bindings with the original unclipped dustwrappers. Externally, very smart with just some minor shelfwear to the head and tail of spine. Dustwrappers are generally smart with chipping to the head and tail of spines as well as to the extremities. Spines of the wrappers are sunned. Repair internally to the rear wrap of Eighteenth century volume. Tape repair internally to the front wrap of sixteenth century volume. Repairs internally to the top of both the front and rear wrap to nineteenth century volume. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Scattered spots to pages 35-40 to the nineteenth century volume. Otherwise, just the odd spot to all volumes.
