Publishers' Original Binding

In the original paper wraps. This report has some interesting provenance as it is from the library of Frederic Newhouse (1883-1969), sometime inspector-general of Egyptian irrigation in the Sudan. With his inscription to the front wrap. With a large folding diagram regarding flood levels and several in-text diagrams and tables. This report was issued as a part of a series of reports commissioned by the ‘Institution of Civil Engineers’. The Institution was the first professional engineering body and was formed during the late eighteenth/early nineteenth centuries. The ICE have issued numerous works over the years. This work looks at overflow weirs, flood estimates, and more.

Condition

In the original paper wraps. Externally, generally smart with handling marks to wraps. Prior owner's inscription to the front wrap, F Newhouse, Twickenham and his shelf notes. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean.
