Description

Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed, With Dustwrapper

This signed first edition of Gerald Scarfe's 'Scarfe Face' collects artwork on the edge of portrait and caricature, with the artist exploring the human face and personality in ways only he could. Based on familiar and well known faces, as well as some invented ones, this volume works as both a showcase of Scarfe's surreal talents and a revealing thesis on the face. Scarfe is also famed for his collaborations with Pink Floyd and his role as production designer on the 1997 'Hercules' film. First edition, with dustwrapper. Artist's signature to the title page. An entertaining and terrifying look at the faces in the mirror, Scarfe explores facial characteristics in some of his finest work.

Condition

In the publisher's original hardback binding, with unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, in an excellent condition with little to no shelfwear. The dustwrapper is very smart, with some light handling marks to the wraps, and minor shelfwear to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Scarfe's signature to the title page.
