What Our Customers Say...
Description
Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
This first edition of 'Scarfe On Stage' collects the stage and costume designs of Gerald Scarfe which showcase another side to the celebrated cartoonist and illustrator Gerald Scarfe. Scarfe has designed major productions for the stage, including Offenbach's 'Orpheus in the Underworld' and Alan Price's musical 'Who's a Lucky Boy', and directed the animated sequences in 'The Wall', with his sketches and designs for much of his theatrical work being collated in this glorious work of surrealism. First edition, with unclipped dustwrapper. With monochrome and coloured illustrations throughout, collated complete. Invoking Scarfe's characteristic visceral designs, 'Scarfe On Stage' displays the breadth of the illustrator's achievements.
