First Edition

The first edition of this work, which was issued by Country Life. With an introduction by Arthur T Bolton, the curator of Sir John Soane's museum. Written by Laurence Turner. Beautifully illustrated throughout, with photographic examples, and diagrams explaining different types of decorative plasterwork. The study looks at decorative plasterwork from 1509 to 1760, with chapters defined by the monarchs on the British throne at the time.

Condition

In the publisher's full buckram binding. Externally, very smart, with minor bumping to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
