Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

Part II only, originally part of a four volume set. This particular part is dated July 1832 and is part of Pugin's Second Series,which builds upon the success of his previous work of the same name. Illustrated with 18 plates, collated complete. Augustus Pugin was an architect of the 19th century, who contributed greatly to the design of buildings across the city of London. Pugin designed the interior of the Palace of Westminster and Elizabeth Tower. A celebration of Gothic architecture with a particular focus on abbeys, castles, monasteries and mansions. Illustrated with historical and descriptive accounts by Edward James Willson, also an architect.

Condition

In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding. Externally sound, with light bumping to the extremities. Heavy rubbing to the spine, with loss to the cloth. Several small closed tears to the extremities of the front and rear boards, with occasional light creasing. Spots to the front and rear boards. Large crack to the front and rear joints, with the front and rear boards at risk of becoming detached. Internally generally firmly bound, lightly strained in places. Pages are generally bright, light offsetting to the reverse of each page and scattered spotting.
