The first edition of this work. A scarce work. A comprehensive dissertation on the art of architectural modelling, discussing the materials and instruments required, the commencement and finish of a model, hints on landscape gardening, and, finally, a glossary. Illustrated with a frontispiece, vignette title page, eleven plates, and many in-text illustrations. Written by the architect T. A. Richardson. Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the University of Cambridge Libraries. Publisher's adverts to the pastedowns and endpapers, and forty-eight pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding, rebacked with a new spine. Externally, smart. Light rubbing and some fading to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot and odd mark.
