Description
Early Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding
This publication was issued forty-four years after the first, in Dublin 1723. The author, Henry Rowlands, was from Anglesey and spent much of his time investigating the stone circles, cromlechs and other prehistoric remains. From these findings he concluded that Anglesey was the ancient centre of Druid worship. Rowlands gives a geographical account of the island before delving into its history and people. This book includes an early description of The Bridestones. Collated, complete with a frontispiece and twelve plates. In contemporary calf. An early edition of this important work in studying Druids.
