ESTC Citation Number T88635. Quarto. The first edition of the work. Volume one contains the additional undated title page as called for. Volume three is undated, dated from copies held in The British Library. Errata leaf to final volume. Collated complete with tape repair to Chevreuse plate to volume one. Loss to the extremity of Langham plate to volume two, not affecting the image. Sylvester Harding was an English artist and publisher, perhaps best known for his work as a miniaturist painter. This work, his Biograhpical Mirrour is perhaps his best known work, and includes his works on influential individuals including Sir William Dugdale, Richard Cromwell and Richard Lovelace. A scarce set of works, from a highly influential eighteenth century artist and publisher.
In a full calf binding with gilt detail. Rebacked, with tape reinforcements to the endpapers of all volumes. Rubbing to the extremities and boards of all volumes. Minor dampstaining to the first and last few pages of all volumes. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting and marginal age toning. Tape repair to Chevreuse plate to volume one. Loss to the extremity of Langham plate to volume two, not affecting the image.
