    Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

    The fourth edition of this work. 'A Short History of Natural Science' is an educational work looking at the history and development of science, from 637 B.C., up to the nineteenth century. Intended for the use of the education of children. Illustrated with a colour plate, and some in-text engravings. Written by Arabella Buckley, a science educator who wrote many works of science textbooks. Her works were divided as lectures, written as she would have taught them to young people. With two pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.

    Condition

    In a full cloth binding. Externally, smart. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A little fading to the spine. A couple of light marks to the boards. Front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, 'No. 69, 5.6.40.'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
