In a signed half morocco binding by Robert Seton.

The first volume only of Nicolas's work, which eventually reached seven volumes. This first volume covers Nelson's communications from 1777 to 1794, including his time spent as the captain of the Albermarle.

Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece and one folding plate. Collated, complete.

With a former owner's inscription, dated 1978, to the front free endpaper.

Condition

In a signed half morocco binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Gilt detailing to back strip. Rubbing to joints and board heads and tails, with a touch of discolouration to back strip. Front hinge a touch strained, but holding firm. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally clean and bright.
