Alan Stafford tells the story of sand dancing humorous legends Wilson, Keppel and Betty, who formed a British popular music hall and vaudeville act in the twentieth century. Looking at the life and career of Jack Wilson, Joe Keppel, and Betty Knox; extremely successful, they toured around the world, performing at shows in London, Europe, India, America, the Far East and Near East, Australia, Scandinavia and South Africa. They finally retired in 1962 after a performance in Great Yarmouth.
Betty retired in 1941 and became a war correspondent during the Second World War, reporting on the Nuremberg trials. She was the first to report the suicide of Hermann Goring.
Illustrated with sixteen full page plates of photographs. Complete with the unclipped dust wrapper.
This book has won the Diagram Prize, awarded to the oddest book of the year.

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally lovely with only minor shelf wear. The dust wrapper is unclipped and excellent with minor shelf wear only. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with sixteen full page plates of photographs.
