What Our Customers Say...
Description
Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
The first edition, first printing of this work, with a 28.5cm strip of 70mm film from a print of '2001: A Spacy Odyssey' owned by Kubrick, and an CD of a 1966 interview with Kubrick. Housed in the very scarce publisher's original cardboard box.
The first part of this work presents Kubrick's complete filmography in chronological order with frame enlargements, from the opening sequence of 'Killer’s Kiss' to the final frames of 'Eyes Wide Shut'.
The second part of this work presents a selection of largely unseen material from the director's archives, including photographs, props, posters, artwork, set designs, sketches, correspondence, documents, screenplays, drafts, notes, and shooting schedules, accompanied by essays from noted Kubrick scholars.
A beautifully presented celebration of the American film director and screenwriter, known for films including the historical epic Spartacus, the science-fiction classic 2001: A Spacy Odyssey, his adaptions of Lolita and The Shining, and the Vietnam war film Full Metal Jacket. His final film, Eyes Wide Shut, was completed shortly before his death in 1999.
