In the original unclipped dustwrapper. The first edition of this work. 'Sanditon' is an unfinished novel by Jane Austen, left behind after her death in 1817. The manuscript was first published in it's unfinished state in 1925. Arthur Axelad is a professor at California State University, and has so far published two books about Jane Austen, in part of a proposed three part trilogy on 'Sanditon'. This book, 'Jane Austen Caught in the Act of Greatness' lays down the groundwork for analysis in his later book, 'Jane Austen's Sanditon, A Village by the Sea'.

In the original publishers' cloth binding, with the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Light shelfwear to the boards. Very light edgewear to the dustwrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean throughout, with one minor mark to the verso of the title page.
