The first trade edition of this anthology from George R. R. Martin, in the publisher's original price unclipped illustrated dust wrapper.

A collection of thirty two stories, novellas and television scripts from the American fantasy author, accompanied by authorial commentary and featuring a number of full page illustrations from artists, including Tom Mandrake and Tim Truman.

Published in 2003, when only the first three of Martin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire' novels had seen release, this volume advertises itself as 'essential reading for anyone interested in imaginative fiction at its deepest and most developed.

'The Washington Post' referred to this collection as 'the most ambitious volume ever to come from an American specialty press'.

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Light shelf wear to spine tail. Dust wrapper in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
