First edition of The Fatal Shore, A History of the Transportation of Convicts to Australia 1787-1868 by Robert Hughes in the original publisher's cloth binding and slip case. With thirty four colour illustrations on plates between pages 164 and 165, and 388 and 389. Collated, complete. Includes four maps before the introduction, and double page spread maps to the pastedowns and endpapers. This is the second printing of the new edition.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding and slipcase. The slipcase is in fine condition, with only some very slight bumping to the extremities. The binding is in fine condition. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are very bright and clean.
