The three volume, first edition set of catalogues for the famous Christie's auction of Haskell F. Norman's library of rare scientific and medical books. One of the most important auctions of 1,384 rare scientific works.

Brightly and attractively illustrated in full colour throughout, the images of items auctioned are supplemented with an extensive commentary, not only on the items themselves, but on the history of both medicine and science.

Volume I details items relating to the Middle Ages and Renaissance, Volume II 'The Age of Reason', and Volume III 'The Modern Age'.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial boards. In excellent condition, with slight rubbing to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
